Leandro Trossard’s transfer seals Arsenal’s interest in Premier League star

SportsLeandro Trossard's transfer seals Arsenal's interest in Premier League star

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal is interested in signing Crystal Palace star Michael Olise. This comes after the Gunners have completed the signing of Leandro Trossard from Brighton & Hove his Albion for a fee of around £27m.

Mikel Arteta’s side was busy in the January transfer window. Having completed the signing of Trossar, Arsenal is expected to sign Polish defender Jakub Kiviol from Serie A club Spezia. But the shopping list doesn’t stop there.

According to the above sources, Arteta is keen to step up his offense and is eyeing a move by Michael Orise. However, the transfer is more likely to happen in the next few days of the summer transfer window.

Crystal Palace will face a difficult summer transfer window as fellow attacker Wilfried Zaha is also likely to leave at the end of the season. The Ivory Coast international has less than six months left on his contract with Palace.

According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace doesn’t want to lose their two best attackers in the same transfer market. Meanwhile, Arsenal is linked with the transfer of Michael Olise, who had hoped to keep Zaha away from Selhurst Park.

The Gunners could bid higher if they decide to sign Olise this summer. Cristal is understood to have withdrawn from Palace and Olyse as he negotiated a £35m release clause from the French U21 international contract. This means that Palace is not obligated to accept any fixed amount of bids from interested parties. The ball is definitely at Arsenal as Olise remains under contract with Crystal Palace until the summer of 2026.

Michael Olise has scored two goals and four assists in his 18 appearances in the Premier League. The 21-year-old winger recently scored one point against Manchester United with a free-kick from long range in the last minute.

New signing Leandro Trossard could make his new club debut against Manchester United on Sunday (January 22). When asked about it, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta explained (via the Daily Mail):

Trossard’s arrival could boost the Gunners’ bid for the Premier League title. He is currently five points behind second-placed Manchester City.
